LA DANCE PROJECT RESIDENCY
WORLD STAGE DESIGN CONFERENCE FIRST PLACE RECIPIENT 2022

Contour reimagines the traditional vertical theater scrim as a horizontal surface beneath the audience. Dancers move across this scrim as images are projected onto it, causing the body, material, and projection to shift and merge. The scrim distorts into topographic shapes, encouraging viewers to explore how body, landscape, and drawing overlap.
